The abandoned railroad line is now the acclaimed High Line Rail-to-Trail. 

Freight trains ran on the High Line servicing New York City from 1934 to 1980.


The High Line is 1.45 miles long with 1 mile currently open.

More than 4 million people visit this park each year. 






Designed by James Corner Field Operations, Diller Scofido + Renfro, and Piet Oudolf

There are more than 300 species of perennials, grasses, shrubs and trees on the High Line 

Currently employs 6 full-time gardeners
